HOW MUCH DOES BALCONY GLAZING COST?

The cost of glazing a balcony in Alanya depends above all on the system you choose and the area. Below are current indicative prices per square metre including installation, plus a breakdown of the factors that affect the final total.

Prices per square metre

Glazing a typical apartment balcony costs from around €700. The survey is free. Our current price list is always available on the glazing prices page.

Prices are in euros per square metre of the unit and include manufacturing and installation. These are minimum figures for standard solutions: thicker glass, a non-standard colour or a complex balcony shape will cost more.

What the final cost depends on

• Type of system. Frameless glazing costs more than sliding because of the toughened glass and complex hardware.
• Balcony area and shape. Each corner needs extra connecting parts, and a U-shaped balcony costs more than a straight one of the same length.
• Height of the opening. Tall panels need thicker glass.
• Glass. Thickness, toughening, tinting, energy-saving coatings.
• Profile colour. Non-standard colours and wood-effect laminates increase the price.
• Extras. Window sill, insect screens, blinds, drip sills.
• Installation complexity. A high floor without access, removing an old unit, uneven slabs.

The condition of the balcony also needs to be taken into account. If the slab or parapet is uneven, the installers will need more time and extra materials to level it. If there is already an old unit on the balcony, removing and disposing of it is also included in the quote. All of this can only be seen on site, which is why the exact price is given after the survey.

Example calculation

Take a straight balcony 4 m long with a 1.2 m high opening — roughly 4.8 m². Approximately:

• sliding glazing: 4.8 × 130 = about €624;
• PVC: 4.8 × 140 = about €672;
• frameless: 4.8 × 160 = about €768.

This calculation uses the minimum price. The final quote is drawn up after the survey, once the exact dimensions, number of corners and your preferences for glass and colour are known.

For corner and U-shaped balconies the calculation is more complex: corner connectors are added to the area, and sometimes extra posts are needed. So two balconies of the same area can differ in price. At the survey we usually price two or three systems so you can compare costs and choose the best option.

Cold or insulated glazing

Given Alanya's mild winters, most owners choose cold glazing — frameless or sliding. It protects against wind, rain and dust, does not add weight to the balcony slab and preserves the view. If you have a large terrace or a detached house, it is worth looking at terrace glazing from €80/m² and panoramic solutions from €115/m². For wide openings onto a garden or terrace, the HS lift-and-slide system from €135/m² is a popular choice: the large sliding panels move easily and close tightly.

How to save without compromising on quality

1. Choose a standard profile colour — white or anthracite.
2. Don't pay for features you don't need: a storage balcony doesn't require energy-saving glass.
3. Order glazing together with screens or blinds — a single crew visit costs less.
4. Plan the work outside the summer peak, when installation crews are less busy.

Installation and hardware are not where you should economise: they determine how long the unit will work without adjustments or repairs. Cheap rollers and thin glass soon make themselves felt, especially in windy areas by the sea.

What the price includes

The stated price per square metre includes manufacturing and installation. Before work starts you receive a quote listing every item. If the survey shows that an old frame needs removing or extra components are required, this is reflected in the quote straight away.

Manufacturing times depend on the system and how busy production is. They are usually confirmed when the order is signed, and installing a standard balcony takes one working day. After installation, the crew clears away the construction waste.
