Frameless glazing is the most popular choice for sea-view balconies in Turkey, where it's known as cam balkon. The glass panels have no vertical frames, and in summer they fold back against the wall like a book, opening the balcony up completely. Close them, and the balcony is protected from wind, dust and rain.
Toughened glass panels 8–10 mm thick are fixed into a top and bottom aluminium profile. Each panel slides along a track and swings open. Clear seals sit between the panels, so from outside the glazing looks like a single wall of glass.
Frame-free view — nothing blocks the sea and mountains.
Opens fully — in summer your balcony is open again.
Protection from wind and dust — especially important in the shoulder seasons and on upper floors.
Toughened glass is 4–5 times stronger than ordinary glass, and if it breaks it shatters into blunt fragments.
Frameless glazing is non-insulated: it protects against wind and rain, but it won't keep the balcony warm in winter the way double glazing does. If you want an extra room or a home office, take a look at panoramic windows or PVC windows. Fitting an insect screen to frameless glazing is trickier — pleated screens are usually used.

Not if it's installed correctly: the bottom profile has drainage and the joints are sealed.
The panels lock in place, and a child safety catch can be fitted.
Usually 1–2 days once the glazing has been made.
