Why windows wear faster in Alanya

Salty sea air, strong sun and swings in humidity speed up wear on hardware and rubber seals. This is especially noticeable on the seafront and in flats that stay closed for long periods. Regular adjustment and lubrication add years to a window's life and save you from costly replacement.

The quality of the original installation matters too: if a window was fitted out of square, no amount of adjustment will give a perfect result. In such cases we offer partial reinstallation.

What we do

The technician diagnoses the window, adjusts the sash pressure and position, lubricates and, where needed, replaces hardware, handles and seals. If it turns out the glass unit is cracked or misted, we will offer glass unit replacement without replacing the whole window. And when repair no longer makes sense, we will tell you honestly and quote for window replacement.

Sliding systems deserve a special mention: in Alanya sand settles on their rollers and tracks, so the sashes start to move stiffly and noisily. Cleaning and replacing the rollers usually solves it, rather than installing a new system. The technician will also check the locks and handles — on sliding units they wear faster than on tilt-and-turn windows.

Prevention: how to extend your windows' life

Many breakdowns can be avoided with simple measures. Once a year, lubricate the moving parts of the hardware with a dedicated lubricant or silicone product, wipe the seals and treat them with a rubber conditioner. Keep an eye on the drainage holes at the bottom of the frame: if they are clogged with dust or sand, rainwater collects inside the profile.

Do not leave the sash tilted open for long in strong wind, and do not hang heavy objects on it — this is the main cause of sagging. Before leaving for several months, close the windows tightly, and when you return check how they open. If something is wrong, it is better to call a technician straight away than to wait for a minor fault to turn into a breakdown.
