Cracked glass, or glass that has misted up on the inside, is no reason to replace the whole window. If the profile and hardware are in good condition, replacing the glass unit is enough, and the window will work like new again.
It is also worth looking at windows that were once fitted with single glazing instead of a glass unit: such units can often be upgraded without changing the profile.
Here, a window's main job is to keep out the summer heat. Glass units with a low-emissivity or solar-control coating work well: they reflect part of the heat radiation, making it easier for the air conditioning to keep things cool. For flats on busy streets, a glass unit with panes of different thicknesses makes sense — it dampens noise better. More on profiles and glass units on our PVC windows page.
The surveyor takes the exact dimensions of the glass unit and checks the condition of the sash. The new glass unit is made to size, then the technician removes the glazing beads, sets it on packers, aligns it and refits the beads. The window is not removed, and there is hardly any mess or dust. The sash can be adjusted at the same time — see our window repair and adjustment page.
The replacement itself usually does not take long: the longest part is making the new glass unit to size. While it is being made, the window stays usable as long as the old glass unit holds in the frame. If the glass is badly broken, mention this when you contact us — we will try to arrange a survey as soon as possible.
The price depends on the size, the glass unit configuration and the type of glass, so we will calculate it after the survey. The survey is free. If the window is generally worn, we will compare the cost of repair with replacement and suggest the best-value option — see our prices page for guidance.
A single-chamber glass unit has two panes; a double-chamber unit has three. In a cold climate the choice is obvious, but in Alanya it is less clear-cut. A double-chamber unit insulates better against noise and heat, but it is heavier, and not every sash is designed to carry that load.
For most flats on the coast, a single-chamber glass unit with a low-emissivity coating is the best choice: it is light yet reflects solar heat effectively. A double-chamber unit makes sense in bedrooms with windows facing a noisy street and in homes lived in all year round. We will determine which option suits your window during the survey, taking the profile and hardware into account.

No, condensation inside a glass unit means the seal has failed. The solution is to replace the glass unit.
Yes, in most aluminium systems the glass unit can be replaced. We will confirm feasibility and cost during the survey.
We will calculate the price after a free survey: it depends on the size and type of glass.
