Terraces, not just balconies

Garden flats and duplex penthouses with a roof terrace are a typical format for new projects in Konaklı. An open terrace is lovely in spring, but in summer it is hot, and in winter windy and damp. Glazing makes it usable for most of the year.

Another reason to glaze a terrace is dust and leaves: on the lower floors with gardens they build up quickly, and cleaning an open area takes a lot of time.

A roof over the terrace

If the terrace is on the top floor, glass walls alone are not enough — you need a roof. We offer retractable roofs and awnings from €180/m²: on a sunny day they can be opened, and in the rain closed. Combined with sliding glazing, the result is a fully fledged summer living room.

The retractable roof is operated manually or by an electric motor, and its fabric is designed for sun and rain. At the sides, this structure is often complemented by sliding glass panels or outdoor curtains: as a result, the terrace is protected from the wind on three sides yet remains bright and open to the sea. We choose the configuration according to the size and orientation of the terrace.

Sea views from the hills

Complexes built higher up the slope are oriented towards the sea panorama. For living rooms and corner rooms, suitable options are:

• frameless system — from €160/m² for balconies you want to open fully in summer.

Older houses in the village centre

In the old part of Konaklı there are houses with worn wooden or aluminium frames. Here, what is more often needed is replacement with modern REHAU, VEKA or KBE PVC systems (from €140/m²) — they retain heat better and reduce road noise. Survey, project and quote are free; the minimum order for a balcony is around €700, with a guarantee on products and installation.

How to plan terrace glazing

A good terrace starts with answering the question of how you will use it. If it is a summer dining room, it matters that the panels open fully and there is shade over the table. If it is a winter living room, you need an insulated envelope and a solid roof. For a children's play area, safety glass and smooth panel movement are the priority.
