Glass balustrades preserve the view of the sea and mountains that bulky concrete or wrought-iron railings take away. In Alanya they are installed on balconies, terraces, staircases and around pools — wherever safety and an open panorama matter.
Only safety glass is used for balustrades: toughened glass, which breaks into small blunt fragments, or laminated glass, which is held together by an interlayer and does not fall out of its fixing. We choose the glass thickness and type according to the height, location and wind load — this is especially important on high floors and hillsides.
We set the balustrade height so that it meets safety requirements for residential premises and is comfortable: you can lean on the handrail, yet it does not block the view when seated.
The glass can be fixed in an aluminium base channel — then no posts are needed and the balustrade looks as light as possible. Another option is point fixings or stainless steel posts. A handrail can be added on top if desired. The choice depends on the base and the design of the house; balustrades are often designed together with panoramic windows and villa glazing so that the façade looks unified.
On apartment building balconies, glass balustrades usually need to be approved by the management company, as they change the look of the façade. We will prepare a description of the structure and a sketch for approval. Private villas generally have fewer such restrictions, and you can choose any solution that suits the style of the house.
The price depends on the length of the balustrade, its height, the type of glass and the fixing, so we will calculate it after the survey. The survey is free. Prices for glazing and other systems are on our prices and calculator page.
The main question people ask before ordering is whether they will have to clean the glass constantly. In a seaside climate, rain spots and salt deposits do appear on glass surfaces, but they are easy to look after: just wipe the glass with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner.
Stainless steel and coated aluminium fixings need no painting; it is enough to rinse them with fresh water from time to time. Once a year it is worth checking that the fixings are tight and the seals in the channel are in good condition — you can book this check with us along with window servicing.
